The UA Brand
The University of Arizona is the leading public research university in the American Southwest.  We are poised to become one of the 10 best public research universities in the country. Each individual part of the UA helps enhance the University’s reputation for quality.
A strong UA brand allows us to speak to our various constituents with consistency and helps distinguish the UA from its competitors. Our brand is the foundation for all UA communications and creates a platform to integrate messages from across campus.

The UA Name
"The" should be capitalized when referring to The University of Arizona. This use corresponds with the official name of our institution.
Example: I earned a valuable degree at The University of Arizona.
However, when using the abbreviation "UA," a precedent "the" does not require capitalization, e.g. "I earned a valuable degree at the UA."
Even though in conversation we call ourselves the U of A, please write UA, the UA or The University of Arizona for publications or the Web.
