The UA marketing department is the hub for all marketing activity on the campus and a resource to the campus community. Its role is to tell the UA's story to the greater community and to raise the profile of the UA as a premier, student-centered research institution. The marketing professionals are the UA's storytellers and brand managers. Institutional marketing creates a backdrop for every college, department and division on campus to promote the University in an integrated fashion.

Kate Maguire Jensen, MPH,
Assistant Vice President for Marketing
Kate is a UA Assistant Vice President for Marketing, is a UA alumna (MPH '98) and has a background in media and community relations, publications and marketing. Previously Kate was director of community affairs for the Steele Children's Research Center at the Arizona Health Sciences Center. She has worked in marketing and communications for several national agencies in San Francisco, and agencies and corporations in Tucson.

Leslie Johnston, Creative Director
Leslie is an experienced art director and graphic designer. She has worked for advertising agencies in Tucson, the Midwest and Florida. She also has worked extensively as a freelance graphic designer/art director and as a graphic designer for several UA departments, on and off, since 1979. She studied Fine Art at the University of Iowa.

Paul Tumarkin, Writer/Content Manager
Using his formal educational background in foreign language and literature as a spring board, Paul made the jump to marketing has been communications for over a decade. He has experience developing creative solutions for corporate, nonprofit and agency environments, and has freelanced as an independent marketer and copywriter. He received his undergraduate degree from Colorado College ('91) and his master's from the University of California, Irvine ('94).
